The People Behind Student Life
It takes people who care to make an impact that lasts.
Student Life is made possible by people who believe students deserve to be seen, heard, and valued. From the staff and volunteers who show up on campus each week to the community leaders and board members who help guide our mission, every person plays a part in creating a place where students know they belong.

Tracie Tevault
Campus Coordinator
La Porte has always been home, although I definitely didn’t always appreciate that. When I was younger, I wanted more than anything to get out of La Porte and experience something different. As I’ve gotten older, though, I’ve come to see just how special this community is. Now, instead of wanting to leave it behind, I want to be part of making a difference here. I know what it feels like to wonder where you fit, where you belong, or whether you really matter. That’s a big part of why Student Life means so much to me. I want students to have a place where they can show up as themselves and know that they are welcome. My greatest hope is that every student we encounter understands that they were created with purpose, that their life has value, and that they are deeply loved. No matter their background, struggles, mistakes, or circumstances, they deserve to be seen, heard, and valued. I love getting the opportunity to invest in the same community that helped shape me and, hopefully, make La Porte a place where the next generation feels like they belong.

Thomas Green
Campus Volunteer
Thomas is a longtime youth ministry leader who loves investing in the next generation. He volunteers with Student Life, serving students in grades 6–12 and helping guide the ministry as part of the Community Advisory Board. With more than 15 years of experience in various roles at Pleasant Hill Church, Thomas is passionate about building meaningful connections and creating a safe place where students can grow in faith, friendships, and purpose. Thomas serves because he knows firsthand the impact caring volunteers can have; he was blessed by leaders in his own community who helped shape his walk with Christ and his life. Now, he is committed to paying it forward, becoming the support and encouragement he wishes every student could have as they navigate their own journey.

Brandon Brewer
Campus Volunteer
As the Associate Pastor at La Porte First Church, I’m honored to serve with Student Life, not only as a volunteer but also as a member of the Community Committee. I choose to be involved because I genuinely love serving students. I still remember how much it meant to me as a teenager when someone showed up and made time for me. Now, I want to be that person for our students: to show up, support them, and remind them they matter.

Duante Newton
Campus Coordinator
Hi, my name is Duante. I gave my life to Christ three years ago, and since then, God has opened incredible doors for me to serve in ministry through evangelism, church volunteering, and community outreaches. I’m truly thankful for the opportunity He has given me to be part of Student Life, and I’m excited to see how He continues to use me here.

Veronica Castro
Campus Volunteer
Mrs. Veronica has been serving in youth ministry for over 15 years. Sharing her own testimonies of God’s faithfulness in her life is a passion of hers, because she desires to let everyone know, God is for you, right where to are at! Another passion of hers and her husband’s is serving the community and anywhere God leads them through missions, Mark 16:15, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone”. She believes the love and compassion of Christ is what leads Mrs. Veronica to the students of Student Life! Each week she shares her heart with students by serving and pouring into them as the Lord leads her. Between her beautiful blended family and the many the Lord has put in her life she is a Bulldog momma through and through!

Alicia Green
Campus Volunteer
I have a deep love for serving others, especially the youth. There’s something truly fulfilling about walking alongside them, supporting their growth, and being a steady presence in their lives. I’m not one to seek the spotlight—I’m more of a behind-the-scenes person who finds joy in being the hands and feet of Jesus. Whether it’s through quiet acts of service or simply showing up with love and humility, I believe that every small gesture can reflect His heart. I’m married to my best friend, Thomas Green, with whom I also served in the ministry for the past 22 years. Our church home is Pleasant Hill Church of Deliverance. We have 5 wonderful children. I love all sports, being outside, fine arts and crafts, and spending time with my family.
Rooted in Our Community
Student Life is supported by a Community Committee made up of local business owners, pastors, and community leaders who share a heart for the students of La Porte. Their insight, experience, and connection to our community help ensure that Student Life continues to grow with purpose while staying focused on what matters most—improving the lives of students across LPISD and making sure every student knows they are seen, heard, and valued.
