Our Impact Across LPISD

Student Life is present across five secondary campuses in La Porte ISD, creating spaces where students can connect, build relationships, and know they are seen, heard, and valued. While Student Life may look a little different on every campus, our purpose stays the same: show up, build relationships, and remind students that they matter.

BUILDING CONNECTION, FROM THE BEGINNING

Sixth grade brings a lot of change—new expectations, new friendships, and a new school environment.

At Baker, Student Life gives students a place to connect, have fun, and build relationships with trusted adults and other students. We want students to begin their secondary-school years knowing they belong to a community.

Impact focus: Belonging • Confidence • Positive relationships

La Porte Jr High

SHOWING UP CONSISTENTLY

At LPJH, our impact starts with something simple: being there. Week after week, students know they have a place where they will be welcomed, remembered, and encouraged. Through conversations, activities, mentoring, and meaningful discussions, we work to make sure students know they don't have to navigate these years alone.

Impact focus: Consistency • Mentorship • Community

Lomax Jr High

A PLACE TO CONNECT AND BE HEARD.

The junior high years can be some of the most important—and challenging—years in a student's life. At Lomax, Student Life creates an environment where students can step away from the pressures of the school day, be themselves, talk about what matters to them, and build relationships with adults who genuinely care.

Impact focus: Connection • Encouragement • Being heard

The Academy of Viola De Walt

Meeting students where they are.

Every student's story is different. At The Academy of Viola DeWalt, we focus on creating a welcoming, judgment-free environment where students know their past, circumstances, or challenges do not determine their worth. We show up to listen, encourage, celebrate progress, and remind students that they are valuable and their future matters.

Impact focus: Acceptance • Hope • A fresh start

La Porte High School

WALKING WITH STUDENTS THROUGH LIFE

High school students are making decisions about friendships, relationships, their future, and who they want to become. Student Life provides a space where they can talk honestly, ask questions, find encouragement, and connect with people who will support them through both the good days and the difficult ones.

Impact focus: Purpose • Support • Authentic relationships

Five Campuses. One Mission.

Different schools. Different ages. Different stories.
But everywhere Student Life goes, our commitment is the same:
We want every student we encounter to know they are Seen.Heard.Valued.
And beneath that, I'd put your 700+ students statistic prominently:
500+ Students Reached Each Week
5 Secondary Campuses
One Community That Shows Up
